"Wo mir sind isch vorne" is a tragicomedy by Hannes Stöhr. The Swabian traditional company for textile machines "Bogenschütz & Söhne" has fallen into the turmoil of globalization. Bankruptcy threatens. The younger son Michael, managing director in the fourth generation, is trying to explore all possibilities and is negotiating contracts with a Chinese company. However, senior boss Paul Bogenschütz insists on continuing his post-war reconstruction efforts and wants to use the private homes of all family members as collateral for new company loans. On the 99th birthday of father Bogenschütz, all family members gather at the company villa. Not only the successful daughter Marlies, who runs yoga studios in Berlin, but also the estranged son Manfred, who has moved to Jamaica, are present. While Marlies fears for her livelihood, Manfred wants to be paid out his share of the company immediately. To make matters worse, skilled worker Kleinmann stops by to voice the concerns and fears of the employees who have already been sent on forced leave. Agnieschka, the Polish assistant of the old patriarch, tries to calm the tensions, but nerves are frayed in the Bogenschütz household. A solution to the complicated situation is not in sight. A delegation from the company Chong has already announced their visit. But even in China, the Maultasche (a type of Swabian dumpling) is a sacred dish. Hannes Stöhr, the Berlin film director ("Berlin Calling," "One Day in Europe," "Berlin is in Germany") with roots in Hechingen, has adapted his successful film specifically for the Theater Lindenhof and updated the material in his stage version to reflect the Corona situation. The structural change in the textile industry on the Swabian Jura and the challenges faced by medium-sized companies in globalization provide the backdrop for a tragicomic family and generational portrait.
