**Ravensburg: a global trading hub?** Let Henggi Humpis, merchant and co-founder of the Great Ravensburg Trading Company, take you back to 15th-century Ravensburg. On his tour through the former imperial city, he will show you the place where Ravensburg's merchants planned their trading activities throughout the known world: the headquarters of the Great Trading Company. As you walk along Marktstraße, he will explain how the people of Ravensburg came to own their magnificent houses, what dangers trade entailed, and how they prevailed against their competitors. For the former mayor and city councilman, the town hall is naturally also on the agenda: in the historic council chamber, the Humpis family determined the city's politics for 77 terms of office. Where does the Humpis family name come from? "Hundebiss! We were already biting, otherwise we wouldn't have made it to Genoa. Hund was more than that!"
