Public guided tour of the special exhibition **Always Fresh! The Ravensburg Weekly Market** The Ravensburg market is as old as the city itself. The earliest written records date back to the 12th century, when the market was held on Upper Market Street and at Gänsbühl. The exhibition shows how the market expanded alongside the city in the 14th century and shifted toward what is now Marienplatz. There, the central market buildings—the Korn-, Waag-, and Lederhaus, as well as the newly built town hall—were erected, structures that continue to shape the cityscape to this day. Well into the 20th century, the weekly market, including the grain, livestock, and horse markets, spread across many streets and squares in the old town and remained for a long time the most important place for supplying goods for daily needs. However, the exhibition also incorporates the present day and showcases the work of today’s market vendors—from the fields to the market stalls. What defines our market today?
