Narrative Worlds on the River 2025 - Literary Cruises on the Rhine and Lake Constance

Saturday, September 27, 2025 With STORY WORLDS ABOUT THE RIVER, we continue our series of literary boat trips on the Rhine, Lake Constance, and Lake Zurich, which began in 2024. We invite you to breakfast cruises from Schaffhausen to Wangen with authors Julia Weber from Zurich and Anne Overlack from Höri. The readings will be accompanied by discussions about the texts and their connection to the nature, culture, and history of the region. In the cultural barn in Wangen, you can look forward to an exchange with the authors, music, and a culinary treat. This unique combination of literature and nature experience is realized in collaboration with the shipping companies URh. Anne Overlack will read from her work "A Stranger in My Homeland," in which she tells the story of the Jewish Wolf family. This story largely takes place in Öhningen-Wangen on the Untersee. Upon arrival, we will take a small walk through Wangen to original locations, guided by Vera Floetemeyer, and then conclude the event in the cultural barn with a discussion, music, and a light refreshment.
