Resonant Encounter: First Joint Concert of the Freiburg Chamber Orchestra and the Meadows Chamber Orchestra Edinburgh

The Freiburg Chamber Orchestra invites you to a special musical event on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 7 PM at the Martinskirche Müllheim: Together with the Meadows Chamber Orchestra from Edinburgh, it will present a cross-border concert project for the first time under the direction of Scottish conductor Peter Evans. The concert will open with Beethoven's Egmont Overture, which powerfully addresses the struggle for freedom of the Dutch Count Egmont. This will be followed by Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E minor, performed by the only 14-year-old soloist Rhea Fitzgerald. The program adds a lively contemporary touch with the "Dance Variations" by British composer Peter Nelson, before Dvořák's Eighth Symphony, with its folk-like themes and joyful energy, concludes the evening festively.
