15TH ART VILLAGE IN UNTERJESINGEN DOCUMENTA IN THE VILLAGE "INS OFFENE" "ins Offene" is the title of the high-caliber exhibition organized by the team behind the 15th Art Village in Unterjesingen in the historic village center. Twelve renowned artists from the contemporary art scene in Hesse, Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Switzerland will show their works on June 27 and 28, 2026, in old barns, stables, the Bürgerstüble, the Farrenstall, the Keltern Museum, and the old town hall.
"Ins Offene" (Into the Open) refers to a movement, a stepping out of a closed space, which, depending on the situation, can be familiar and convey a sense of security or, conversely, inhibit and restrict, into an open, fictional space, an imaginary world in which the imagination can unfold. "Man is only truly human when he plays" (F. Schiller). Art is created there, in the open, in the free play of the imagination. The path to the open can mean liberation, insight, enrichment—for the artist, but also for the viewer. You are invited to open yourself to art, to follow it into the open. And where could the path be shorter than in the art village—the village where art has come? A catalog will be published to accompany the exhibition.
