Repair work on the roof truss at Achberg Castle

In 1988, the castle was acquired by the district of Ravensburg and saved from decay. But how do you preserve a historical monument? Special themed tour with Dipl. Ing Arch. Günter Bestfleisch The roof structure was repaired as part of the model renovation of Achberg Castle. Günter Bestfleisch planned and supervised the model renovation around 30 years ago. During the tour, he will report as a contemporary witness on the procedure for repairing the roof truss: Which components were particularly affected? Which monument protection regulations had to be taken into account? How was the concept implemented in terms of craftsmanship? What special features did the roof construction above the knights' hall ceiling have? Visitors will learn this and much more during the special tour.
