Heilbronn Master Concert

In memory of Albert Schweitzer (1875-1965). Kirsten Sturm performs Albert Schweitzer's organ concert program from July 7, 1932, in the Odeon Hall in Munich. The program includes works from the so-called organ mass of Bach, individual chorale arrangements, Prelude and Fugue in C minor BWV 546, Prelude and Fugue in G major BWV 547, Fugue in G minor BWV 578, as well as Chorale No. 1 in E major by César Franck. Kirsten Sturm studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt am Main with Prof. Martin Lücker (organ) and Prof. Hiroko Maruko (piano). In 2002, she successfully completed her diploma examination in instrumental pedagogy for piano, and in 2003, she completed her exams in organ (artistic diploma examination and instrumental pedagogy for organ). She then pursued advanced studies at the Hochschule für Musik des Saarlandes with Prof. Wolfgang Rübsam (concert diploma in organ, followed by a soloist class). In 2019, she was appointed as the organist of the Stiftskirche Heilig Kreuz and the Gothic Liebfrauenkirche in Horb am Neckar. She is the custodian of the local Stiftskirchenorgan and the initiator and artistic director of the "Horber Orgeltage." As a church musician, she has been active at the Lutherkirche in Munich since 2023. After a teaching assignment for organ at the Bishop's Institute for Church Music of the Diocese of Mainz, she was at the Hochschule für Kirchenmusik of the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart from 2010 to 2023. She received significant artistic impulses through participation in international master classes, including those with Michael Radulescu (Vienna), Daniel Roth (Paris), Jean Guillou (Paris), Olivier Latry (Paris), Heinz Wunderlich (Hamburg), and Almut Rössler (Düsseldorf).
