SWR Film Preview "Missing" In April 2025, Sasbachwalden served as the backdrop for a week of filming for the investigative ARD feature film "Missing." The team from diwafilm, commissioned by Südwestrundfunk (SWR) and directed by Daniel Harrich, filmed at locations such as the "Fäßlewirt," the Church of the Holy Trinity, the Schaufler family's residence, and a modern office building in Achern, with the participation of numerous locals from the Black Forest as actors and extras. Now the film returns to where many scenes were shot: Experience the premiere of "Missing" on Wednesday, October 29, at the Kurhaus Sasbachwalden – alongside the film team, including filmmaker Daniel Harrich and actors Axel Milberg, Jürgen Hartmann, and Luka Omoto, as well as Mayor Sonja Schuchter. This exclusive event takes place before the TV broadcast on November 12 on Das Erste. The evening will be hosted by SWR presenter Hendrike Brenninkmeyer ("Marktcheck" / "Europamagazin"). After the film screening, she will discuss with guests from science, politics, and film – including Thekla Walker, the Baden-Württemberg Minister for Environment, Climate, and Energy, Dr. Britta Böhr (National Park Black Forest), Prof. Dietrich Darr (Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University), Daniel Harrich (filmmaker), and Thomas Reutter (SWR) – the pressing issues behind the television thriller. About the film: "Missing" tells the story of construction manager Klemens Stadler (Axel Milberg), who searches for his estranged son in the Brazilian rainforest. What begins as a personal journey turns into an investigative quest surrounding forest protection, CO₂ certificates, and global power struggles – with a special focus on Baden-Württemberg. Alongside Axel Milberg, the cast includes Max Hubacher, Luka Omoto, Elisa Schlott, Julia Koschitz, Benjamin Sadler, and Jürgen Hartmann. The accompanying SWR documentary highlights the EcoSiPas research project investigating the Cerrado ecosystem and, together with the film, forms the core of the ARD thematic focus on forests, which will be released in conjunction with the World Climate Conference COP30 in Brazil. We can be proud to have been selected for the film premiere. Normally, large cities take precedence. The National Park Center Black Forest will bring excerpts from the photo exhibition "Forest Change" to the Kurhaus, available for viewing starting at 5 PM. From 5 PM, our service for food and drinks will also be available, so you can start the film evening well-prepared. We offer tarte flambée as well as sausage and cheese rolls, managed by the municipal administration.
