The atmospheric Christmas market in the district of Saalburg invites you once again this year to a festive 3rd Advent weekend. On the castle square, you can expect a lovingly designed program featuring music, culinary delights, crafts, and winter magic by the Thuringian Sea.

Friday, December 12, 2025 – Kick-off at 6:00 PM – Concert at St. Mary's Church
The mixed choir Dreiklang from Bad Lobenstein, together with the Ebersdorf parish, invites you to a contemplative concert. The local fire brigade will provide refreshments for the evening. Everyone is warmly invited to start the Advent weekend with us.

Saturday, December 13, 2025 – Christmas Market & Evening Program
12:30 PM – Mulled Wine Cruise on the Thuringian Sea
With the Saaletal cabin boat (approx. 1 hour, €17 including 1 mulled wine, no registration required).
2:00 PM – Opening of the Christmas Market on the Castle Square
Artisan crafts, gift ideas, Christmas trees, culinary specialties, and warming beverages.
3:00 PM – Musical accompaniment by the Friesau-Zoppoten brass choir.
4:00 PM – Santa Claus arrives with gifts for the children.
6:00 PM – Light show on the Castle Square with FREAKS ON FIRE from Leipzig
7:00 PM – Legendary après-ski party with GALAXIS until around 10:30 PM.
Culinary offerings: Fish sandwiches, grilled specialties, cheese spaetzle, mushroom pan, stew, waffles, sweet treats, cold & hot drinks, hot cocktails, Bombardino, and much more.

Sunday, December 14, 2025 – Christmas Market and Family Day
Morning – Winter hike of the city of Saalburg-Ebersdorf
11:30 AM – Culinary dumpling cruise on the Thuringian Sea
2-hour boat trip including traditional dumpling dish (€35, registration required at the Saalburg-Ebersdorf Tourist Information).
12:00 PM – 5:00 PM – Christmas Market on the Castle Square
3:00 PM – Performance by the men's singing club Friesau.
4:00 PM – Santa Claus distributes gifts to the children again.
Continuous culinary offerings on Saturday & Sunday: Cheese spaetzle, grilled delicacies, mushroom pan, fries, stew, fish sandwiches, hearty and sweet waffles, cakes & pastries, chocolate fruits, roasted almonds, roasted pears, cotton candy, red and white mulled wine, mixed drinks, coffee, Bombardino, children's punch, pharmacist cocktails.

Handcrafted art: Ceramics, cast decorations, wool and beautiful wool items, sewn goods, gift items, honey products, jewelry, tea, spices, medicinal herbs, handmade wreaths, products from the Ruhmühle, decorative arches, and candles.
