Open House Day

On Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, it’s that time again: The Robert Mayer Observatory is hosting its traditional Open House for the 29th time. Discover the fascinating features of the planets in our solar system in the special exhibition "Journey Through the Solar System" and learn more about the exciting explorations that humanity is currently undertaking with satellites and rockets, as well as those planned for the near future. Between 10 AM and 6 PM, you can look forward to not only an exhibition on space travel but also a comprehensive supporting program. In addition to a varied lecture program, you can have the starry sky printed for your birth hour and, weather permitting, take a look at the sun through telescopes – special protective filters allow for safe observation. The program is rounded off with craft and painting activities for the little ones, an astronomy market with many interesting offerings such as star maps, books, or meteorites, as well as a raffle. Our cafeteria will take care of your culinary needs: Pretzels, crêpes, cakes, coffee, and more await you! You can find the Robert Mayer Observatory in the building of the Robert Mayer Gymnasium at Bismarckstraße 10 - entrance Mönchseestraße.
