Steffen Hoppe is a true globetrotter. After countless travels around the world, the passionate mountaineer is now drawn to the wild heart of Europe. He starts at Lake Königssee, hikes through the Steinernes Meer, the Hohe Tauern, the Dolomites, and the gentle Judicarian mountains, reaching Lake Garda after 30 days and 45,000 meters of elevation gain. Breathtaking images of an Alpine crossing. For Steffen Hoppe, the Alps are an oasis of tranquility on the European continent, and the untamed mountain landscape in Berchtesgaden National Park around Lake Königssee is the ideal starting point for his Alpine crossing. From here, he sets off with a friend heading south: over the limestone waves of the Steinernes Meer, the green Hundstein, the icy Tauern, to the gateway to South Tyrol at Gsieser Törl, into the bizarre Dolomites, and further to the gentle Judicarian mountains. They hike over snowfields and alpine meadows, past reservoirs and quaint mountain villages, along high paths, streams, and peaks, from hut to hut, always towards the sun. The destination is Italy's largest inland lake, Lake Garda. Surrounded by Mediterranean charm, in the shade of cypress and olive trees, they want to enjoy a glass of red wine by the lakeside on a warm summer evening and let their journey come to a close. Experience the scenic diversity of the Alps and the people of the region in beautiful images. Hoppe shares captivating and entertaining stories about his encounters, weather changes, breathtaking views, challenges, and the joy of being on the road in nature.
