"Welt im Spiegel" by Robert Gernhardt staged by Theater Remskiesel • Scenic-Literary Theater

A literary-satirical theater evening between laughter and contemplation, between nonsense and deep truth. The theater group Remskiesel presents a literary-satirical evening with their production "World in the Mirror" on the stage of the Kulturhaus Schwanen. Inspired by the legendary column of the satirical magazine Pardon, which was shaped by Robert Gernhardt together with F. W. Bernstein and F. K. Waechter, the ensemble dives into a world where grotesque and poetry, laughter and reflection are closely intertwined. The texts, originally created in the 1960s and 70s, unfold a new power in today's production. The biting comments, absurd dialogues, and poetic jabs that once caricatured everyday life in the Federal Republic now seem almost prescient when viewed through the lens of our present. The ensemble dares to re-examine these satirical miniatures – thereby opening spaces where our own contradictions also become visible. With a keen sense of playfulness and a clear stance, the Remskiesel explore the space between nonsense and truth, between slapstick and insight. An evening emerges that embraces the tradition of the New Frankfurt School while also looking forward – an evening that confronts political seriousness with literary wit.
