Digital Monastery Tour

The digital monastery tour of Haydau Monastery allows visitors to explore the history of the nearly 800-year-old monastery using their smartphones. At 10 stations in the monastery park, information about the founding, use, and renovation of the monastery can be accessed by scanning QR codes. Virtually, Gertrud of Haydau, portrayed as a Cistercian nun in landgrave attire, as a domain worker, and in a modern look, guides visitors through the various epochs. This is accompanied by short texts in German and English, as well as rich visual material, including photos, drawings, and a virtual flight over the garden area. Additionally, despite closed doors, the Angel Hall and the courtyard can be explored in three dimensions from the outside. The project, realized with the support of volunteers and funding, complements the real tours and invites relaxation and reflection in the monastery. The tour is free of charge.
