ASSA ABLOY Albstadt Bike Marathon with City Sprint

Every year, around 2,500 mountain bikers take part in the ASSA ABLOY Albstadt Bike Marathon, covering 83 km and 2,000 meters of elevation gain through all nine districts of Albstadt. Around 2,500 participants are expected to take part in Germany's oldest mountain bike marathon again this year. What was planned as a one-off event in 1995 to mark the 20th anniversary of the city of Albstadt has developed into one of the most enduring cycling events in the German-speaking world. Every year, this event thrills the masses, whether they are actively participating on their bikes or watching from the sidelines. This year, the race is already in its 30th edition! In addition to the 83 km marathon with 2,000 meters of elevation gain, the "Sparkassen Kids Cup" will take place in Ebingen city center on Friday afternoon. With a wealth of ideas, the organizers have created an interesting and varied route for young cyclists. The kids will have to overcome numerous artificial obstacles. Saturday will see the highlight of this spectacular event, the "Albstadt Bike Marathon." The circuit, which crosses all nine districts of Albstadt, leads through the beautiful and charming landscape of the Swabian Alb and is one of the most popular marathon routes in Germany. But the short marathon route is also challenging! At the ski jump in Albstadt-Onstmettingen, the starters embark on the second half of the legendary circuit and have to cover an impressive 45 km and 1,100 meters of elevation gain to reach the finish line. E-mountain bikers are also allowed to compete on both routes and complete the 83 or 45 km in their own classification. After the races, excellent food and hospitality will be provided at the fairground near the Mazmann Hall in Albstadt-Ebingen. Live music is also on the program on both days. A special highlight is the concert with Precious Time on Saturday evening.
