ASSA ABLOY Albstadt Bike Marathon with City Sprint

At the ASSA ABLOY Albstadt Bike Marathon, around 2,500 mountain bikers ride through all nine districts of Albstadt on a course of 83 km and 2,000 meters of elevation gain each year. Approximately 2,500 participants are again expected at the oldest mountain bike marathon in Germany. What was initially planned as a one-time event in 1995 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the city of Albstadt has developed into one of the most enduring cycling events in the German-speaking world. Every year, this event captivates the masses, whether actively on the bike or as spectators along the sidelines. This year, the race will already be in its 30th edition! In addition to the 83 km marathon with 2,000 meters of elevation, the "Sparkassen-Kids-Cup" will take place in the city center of Ebingen on Friday afternoon. With plenty of creativity, the organizers have created an interesting and varied course for the young cyclists. Numerous artificial obstacles await the kids to conquer. On Saturday, the highlight of this spectacular event, the "Albstadt Bike Marathon," takes place. The circuit, which crosses all nine districts of Albstadt, leads through the beautiful and picturesque landscape of the Swabian Jura and is one of the most popular marathon routes in Germany. But the short marathon route is also challenging! At the jump ramp in Albstadt-Onstmettingen, the starters enter the second half of the legendary circuit and must overcome a respectable 45 km and 1,100 meters of elevation gain to reach the finish line. E-mountain bikers are also allowed to participate in both routes and complete the 83 or 45 km in their own classification. After the races, the festival area at the Mazmann Hall in Albstadt-Ebingen will provide excellent catering and hospitality. Additionally, live music is scheduled for both days. A special highlight will be the concert with Precious Time on Saturday evening. Friday: City Sprint: City race with artificial obstacles on asphalt.
