Church tour with organ prelude - public

It is one of the largest and most renowned organs in Europe. Our tour guides will show you the magnificent Baroque monastery church of Amorbach during a 30-minute church tour. You can admire the fresco cycle by Matthäus Günther, featuring 23 bright, colorful frescoes. The high altar, with its six marble columns and an altarpiece by Matthäus Günther depicting the Assumption of Mary, is impressive. The double-sided, gold-leaf Rococo pulpit by the Würzburg wood sculptor Johann Wolfgang van der Auvera is unparalleled. A special feature of the abbey church is the wrought iron choir screen in the early Rococo style, which once separated monks and laypeople during worship. To conclude the church tour, our organists will present a 20-minute concert featuring the famous Amorbach Stumm organ, allowing you to experience the full richness of this unique instrument.
