Reading with the city writer Jan Snela

The current city clerk of Rottweil presents his debut novel "Yes, Snail, Yes." Jan Snela tells in his novel "Yes, Snail, Yes" about the great chaos we find ourselves in: we humans, we animals, we plants. About how we can encounter one another. And about love in its many forms: between a man and a woman, between robots, humans, and other living beings, between Eastern and Western traditions. With a brilliant sense of humor, he teases out the inherent fantasy of language—sometimes in fluffy haibun prose, sometimes in enchanting haiku miniatures—and explores what remarkable answers to the great questions of our present lie hidden behind the mystery of moment and transience. Jan Snela, who will serve as city clerk in Rottweil from mid-September to mid-December, has already received several awards and scholarships. His debut novel "Yes, Snail, Yes," which was released in spring and which he will present during the reading at the Schwarzes Lamm, debuted at number 8 on the SWR best list and has also been nominated for two awards: the Franz Tumler Prize and the Anna Haag Prize.
