Juniper heath crib and Hielöcher

Our nature park guides will take you in small groups across the species-rich dry grasslands of the juniper heath and show you a colorful variety of rare plants and the blue-flowering gentians. In North Hesse's largest sinkhole area, you will walk over ancient seabed. You will see dolomite peaks, sinkholes, and the "Kuhloch," where a cow team sank in 1958. You will hear about the traditional management of this natural treasure, which was resumed over 20 years ago. You will learn about the background and results of the federal project "Sheep Create Landscape."

The distance is approximately 5 km. Please bring a packed lunch for a small break!
