Hike in the Kripp and Hielöcher Nature Reserve

On the approximately 5 km long hike, you will learn about the effects of sheep grazing that was resumed here over 20 years ago. You will gain insights into and results from the federal project "Sheep Creates Landscape." In North Hesse's largest sinkhole area, you will walk over former seabed, see dolomite peaks, sinkholes, and also the "Kuhloch," where a team of cows sank in 1958. With a bit of luck, you might be able to observe swallowtail butterflies during their "hilltopping."

Afterwards, we recommend stopping by the Gasthaus Schindewolf, Tel. 05657 1081, where only local lamb is prepared.
