The Hausherrenfest can look back on a tradition of over 300 years: it has been celebrated every year on the third Sunday in July since 1725. The festival originated from the veneration of Saints Theopont, Senesius, and Zeno, whose relics have been kept in Radolfzell since the 9th and 11th centuries. This early development turned the town into a significant pilgrimage site on Lake Constance. Today, the Hausherrenfest is an integral part of urban life, strengthening the sense of belonging and community. Many residents of Radolfzell return to their hometown for this occasion. In addition to secular festivities, the solemn procession on Hausherrensonntag featuring the relics of the three patron saints is the highlight. A special tradition is the Mooser Water Procession, which dates back to a vow made in 1796. At that time, the residents of Moos in Radolfzell sought protection from a cattle plague. Since 1926, they have been annually piloting flower-decorated boats across the lake on Hausherrenmontag. In Radolfzell, the pilgrims are ceremoniously welcomed and accompanied to the Minster of Our Lady.
