Andreas-Martin Hofmeir – No Effort Part 1

Deutsche Zentrale für Tourismus e.V.

Schillerstraße 55, 74613 Öhringen

He was the first tuba player ever to win the ECHO Klassik award as "Instrumentalist of the Year," he is a professor at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, and he was a founding member of the Bavarian cult band LaBrassBanda. Now he is returning to his cabaret roots! Cabaret simply won't let him go! After many years with the musical cabaret group Star Fours (awarded the Hallertau Small Arts Prize, the Schweiger Small Arts Prize, the Thurn and Taxis Cabaret Prize, and the Golden Weißwurst) and the theater cabaret The Qualkommission (awarded the Bronze Koggenzieher and the Little Executioner's Axe), Andreas Martin Hofmeir has chosen the reading variant due to age: In his dry style, he reads from his experiences as a tuba player and world traveler, in epic breadth and lyrical richness. Alongside, there will be Brazilian, Hungarian, and Argentine music from the tuba, accompanied by jazz piano. In the best tradition of Gerhard Polt or Karl Valentin, he describes his struggle with the instrument, the disliked practice, the difficulties of traveling, the sudden clash of the country boy with the big city of Berlin, and his homegrown burglar Jürgen... After this evening, everyone will feel a little like a tuba player. This tragicomic and atmospheric mixture has proven to be a successful program from the start, as disarming and funny are the entirely true stories, and as dreamy and captivatingly virtuosic is the music! Sold-out stages, including the Mannheim Capitol, the Bonn Pantheon, and the Salzburg ARGE, are the thanks.
