New Permanent Exhibition at the City Museum

After twenty years, the Radolfzell City Museum is revamping its permanent exhibition. As a first step, the foyer on the first floor has been completely redesigned. The newly conceived exhibition invites visitors on an interactive journey through time, during which they can gain an overview of the town’s settlement history. A key feature is the variety of interactive elements in the new space. Here, visitors can pull out drawers to examine their contents, open flaps, or play a neighborhood puzzle. To enhance the overall visual experience, the lighting was also modernized. The space concludes with a display case that is updated annually with a new object, whether it’s a new addition to the museum’s collection or an item on loan from the public. After all, every everyday object can make history—perhaps the object that particularly moved us this year will one day be displayed in the museum. Public tours of the expanded permanent exhibition will take place on Friday, March 27, and Friday, April 17, both at 3 p.m. The new room is the centerpiece of the City Museum’s permanent exhibition and can be visited starting January 22, Thursdays through Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
