"Sigmaringen reads": Reading with Martin Oswald from "Kafka is Closed on Sundays"

Dr. Martin Oswald is reading as part of "Sigmaringen reads," a series of events for literature enthusiasts in southern Baden-Württemberg, from "Kafka is Closed on Sundays." Martin Oswald's flâneur stories breathe the tranquility of life in the provinces. His observations and explorations result in a description of our world that is infused with much wit, lightness, and warmth. The fine miniatures invite literary strolls that are full of love but also allow for digressions into the grotesque. Born in 1960 in Würzburg, Martin Oswald lives in Weingarten. He studied German studies and art at the University of Augsburg, earning his doctorate with a thesis on the perception of colors. For many years, he was the house author of the musical cabaret "Die Mehlprimeln," performing at the "Lach- und Schießgesellschaft." He is the author of numerous columns and satires, including in the "Süddeutsche Zeitung." In 2023, Martin Oswald was the "Turmschreiber" (tower writer) for the city of Abenberg, which became a "base camp" for the flâneur.
