"Movement Against Dementia"

The "FORUM | Educational Institute" of the Catholic parish of Bad Schönborn-Kronau invites you to an evening centered around the topic "Movement Against Dementia." The lecture: "Movement Against Dementia" - Successful Aging Through Sports. In light of demographic change, the question of how to keep an increasing number of older people healthy is gaining growing importance. The lecture will present current scientific findings on the effects of physical activity on the development of physical performance and bio-psycho-social health in the context of "successful aging." It will particularly explore the role of movement in the prevention and therapy of dementia. How should movement be conducted to have an impact on cognitive development? How can preventive forms of exercise be integrated into everyday practice? Speakers: Prof. Dr. Alexander Woll teaches and conducts research at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and is the head of the Institute for Sports and Sports Science (focusing on sports, fitness, and health throughout life).
