Anniversary weekend

The major highlight of the anniversary year in Radolfzell. On Saturday, the traditional Old Town Festival will take place, complemented by exciting time islands and other activities. On Sunday, historical and religious events will be at the center of attention – including a church service, procession, and other special activities. The weekend was deliberately chosen, as September 13 is historically documented as the day of death of Bishop Radolf, the founder of the city.

On Saturday of the anniversary weekend, the Radolfzell Old Town Festival invites you to experience the historic city center as a vibrant meeting place filled with music, enjoyment, and a variety of activities. The festival is complemented by time travel stations in the city center and the city garden. Anniversary Weekend Sunday: New Mass. The Sunday of the anniversary weekend is entirely dedicated to history and faith. The day begins ceremoniously with the world premiere of a new mass at 9:15 AM in the Minster. It is created specifically for this place, this special occasion, and for the people who sing, make music, and celebrate worship together here. Afterwards, from 11 AM to 5 PM, the time travel stations invite you to dive into the different eras of Radolfzell and experience history up close. Additionally, you can expect exciting historical activities that will be presented in more detail throughout the year – stay tuned for surprises!

Anniversary Weekend Sunday: Minster Brass Concert. To conclude the anniversary weekend, the Minster Building Association, along with the Minster Brass, will host a top-class festive concert. For this concert, two high-profile soloists have been secured – trombonist Uwe Schrodi, who hails from Radolfzell-Markelfingen, and trumpeter Reinhold Friedrich. With the engagement of Reinhold Friedrich, one of the world's leading trumpet virtuosos of our time, this concert promises to be a special auditory delight.
