Badische Landesbühne: Visitation

A multimedia performance based on the novel by Jenny Erpenbeck. In an adaptation for the Badische Landesbühne by Daniel Schüßler & Hanna Held, Abitur focus topic German 2026. A house by a Mark Brandenburg lake. The life stories of its residents reflect the political upheavals of the last hundred years in Germany. A narrative of having and losing, of war and of change. A summer house serves as the setting for nearly a dozen life stories from the 1920s to the present day. The house and its inhabitants experience the Weimar Republic, the Third Reich, the war and its end, the GDR, the turning point, and the post-reunification era. Each individual fate is given its own form by Jenny Erpenbeck. Each unfolds its own drama. Together, they create a panorama of the last century that disturbs, delights, unsettles, and reconciles. The East Berlin writer Jenny Erpenbeck tells of the political upheavals in Germany. At the Badische Landesbühne, the novel becomes a multimedia performance.
