Play: The Perfect Secret

Eva and Rocco invite their friends for dinner. For the evening, all phones are open – messages and calls are answered honestly. What began as a fun test of courage quickly leads to surprising tensions within the friend group. Eva and Rocco invite three friendly couples for a cozy dinner. The highlight of the evening is the ongoing lunar eclipse, which they watch together in a relaxed manner. Soon, the conversation turns to honesty and fidelity: "Who knows how many couples would break up if one could take a look at the other’s phone?" That's when Eva suggests an unusual game: for the entire dinner, all phones are placed openly on the table – and every message as well as every call is answered honestly in front of everyone. While the meatloaf is roasting in the oven, some start to sweat quite a bit. What began as a fun test of courage soon brings unexpected tensions and deep conflicts to the friend group. The performance of the play is organized by the Württemberg State Theatre Esslingen.
