Celtic FULL MOON enjoyment

A atmospheric full moon walk around the Heidengraben: Experience stories, myths, and art related to Celtic moon culture, with full moon sparkling wine, a warming drink, and soup to conclude at the Heidengrabenzentrum. The Celts already attributed great importance to the moon – both on the British Isles and on the European mainland. They regarded it as a timekeeper and a symbol of change, renewal, and the forces of nature. Festivals and rituals often aligned with the phases of the moon. The famous Celtic calendar of Coligny, for example, shows that the months were calculated based on the moon's cycle, and ancient authors like Pliny and Strabo report that there were cultic practices aligned with specific moon days. Although research today suggests that there was no independent "moon cult" in the strict sense, the full moon was indeed a special, sacred time – a moment when nature, light, and spirituality were interconnected. An evening walk on the Alb high plateau around the Heidengraben is a great opportunity to explore these moods and the moon with all senses. To welcome and set the mood, there will be full moon sparkling wine. We will follow in the footsteps of the Celts, illuminating many stories, poems, and myths surrounding the moon, and we will also be able to admire some artworks in the moonlight. A warming drink along the way and a cozy conclusion with a delicious soup at the Heidengraben experience center round off the event. Let yourself be surprised! After the event, the exhibition at the Heidengrabenzentrum can still be visited. This is free for participants of the walk.
