Between Complaint and Hope

The association Kultur am Hochrhein and the ensemble muss cordially invite you to their autumn concerts titled "Between Lament and Hope." On November 15, 2025, at 6 PM, the ensemble will perform in the St. Anna Chapel in Schaffhausen, and on the Day of Mourning, November 16, 2025, at 5 PM, it will host the memorial event of the municipality of Lauchringen. The cross-era program is dedicated to the theme of transience and the finiteness of human life. Among other pieces, the well-known funeral cantata "God's Time is the Best Time" (Actus Tragicus) by Bach, the first piece from Brahms' Four Serious Songs (For man goes to his death like cattle), and the Pange Lingua by Zoltán Kodály will be performed. Andrzej Berezynski will play the organ, and the overall direction is by Markus Süß. The ensemble muss (muss stands for music and theater) consists of trained singers from the Hochrhein region.
