A nostalgic highlight is returning! From May 8 to 10, 2026, around 80 stylish vintage buses from all over Europe will transform the old town of Bad Mergentheim into a rolling museum. Whether from Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Luxembourg, France, Austria, or Sweden – these historic vehicles, some over 100 years old, tell moving stories from times gone by. On Friday, you can already admire the first vintage buses lined up at the festival grounds – a perfect start to the vintage bus weekend. On Saturday, the charming vehicles will then set off from there for a joint outing to the Franconian countryside in Ochsenfurt – a delight for both drivers and spectators along the way. On Sunday, all vintage buses will be on display in the old town, at the marketplace, in Burgstraße, and in the castle courtyard. There, you can admire the lovingly restored vehicles up close and, if you wish, engage in conversation with their proud owners. Of course, there will be plenty of food and drink: bratwurst, steaks, and wild boar sausages in rolls, as well as refreshing beverages from the Herbsthäuser Brewery. A varied supporting program around the historic buses ensures great entertainment. Look forward to hourly outings through the districts of Mergentheim, as well as the festive awarding of the three most beautiful vintage buses. The Sunday program will be published shortly! Around the bus meeting, city tours, castle visits, wine hikes, or a relaxing detour to the Solymar Therme or the wildlife park invite you to discover a variety of attractions. The backdrop of the castle, old town, and spring greenery adds to the charm of this special weekend.
