Stories about Küssaburg - 500 Years After the Peasants' War

On November 4, 2025, the last major battle of the Peasants' War will commemorate its 500th anniversary. The so-called Klettgau Haufen suffered significant losses in this battle and ultimately had to surrender. The remaining fighters entrenched themselves in the cemetery of Grießen, where they had to fully surrender and were taken captive. This event marked the end of the Peasants' War – at least in southern Germany. On the occasion of this historical event, the Küssaburgbund e.V. invites you to a lecture about the life of a peasant leader. Jannik Isele from the "Historical Hans-Müller-Group Bulgenbach" will speak from the perspective of the peasant leader – about his daily life, his beliefs, and his courageous fight against authority. In advance, starting at 5:30 PM, the Hans-Müller-Group will provide a lively insight into the camp life of that time as well as the martial arts of the rebellious peasants. The regionally known medieval group "Spielleute Skadefryd" from Bad Säckingen will provide musical highlights – a special treat for the ears. There will also be refreshments: food and drinks will be available before and after the lecture.
