Run together, help together On October 11, 2026, the Rotary Albstadt Charity Run will kick off its 15th edition. The Rotary Albstadt Charity Run is entering its 15th edition and welcomes Ernst Lorch KG as its new main sponsor. Participants can look forward to lots of new ideas! For example, the fun run has been expanded to include a company run and a fun run – individual registrations are possible. Because everyone should run: from the youngest to the oldest. Why? Of course, it's for a good cause, namely a donation to the local German Red Cross associations and the food banks in Albstadt and Balingen. On October 11, 2026, the Rotary Albstadt Charity Run will take place for the 15th time – this year again with Ernst Lorch KG as the new main sponsor. The Albstadt-based company is a Bosch contract wholesaler for automotive spare parts and household appliances. The patron of the event is once again Albstadt's mayor, Roland Tralmer. For young and old: three runs, one goal! The event is organized into three clearly separated runs – tailored to the age and ambitions of the participants: • 11:00 a.m.: Bambini Run Daycare children start on an approximately 300-meter-long circuit from Kurt-Georg-Kiesinger-Platz. Parents can cheer them on and share in the excitement along the entire route. This will be followed by the award ceremony for the little running stars. This year, for the first time, all the awards will take place at Bürgerturmplatz, the central meeting point for participants, families, and supporters. Barbecues, waffle irons, and cool drinks, as well as hot sounds from the stage with DJane Jessi, will ensure a great atmosphere. • 11:45 a.m.: Company and fun run The name stands for a new concept: companies, clubs, families, or groups of friends are invited to compete as teams. As last year, individual runners can also take part. The varied route leads through the center of Ebingen. There are three laps, each approximately 2.5 km long. The running time will be measured and the three fastest women and men will receive trophies. A cheerful atmosphere along the route and refreshment stations provide motivation – whether for ambitious athletes or simply enthusiastic participants. Those interested can register online. The registration portal will open on July 5, 2026. • 1:00 p.m.: Kids Color Run In this colorful highlight, children and young people set their own pace: within an hour, they run as many 500-meter laps as possible through downtown Ebingen. Each lap benefits charity projects. Participation is free for schoolchildren. Kids are registered through their schools – and for the Bambini Run, through their daycare centers. A good cause – a big impact In the Kids Color Run, children not only compete in a race, but also for a good cause: they find their own sponsors among their family, friends, and neighbors, who donate a freely chosen amount for each lap they run. Every euro raised goes directly to regional charity projects. All proceeds from this run go to the local DRK associations in the participating communities. Rotary President Alexander Korn emphasizes: "We are very grateful to the volunteers at the DRK. They do extraordinary work – with this run, we want to honor their commitment and provide targeted support." Heiko Lebherz, Chairman of the DRK Zollernalb, also underscores the importance of the donations: "Local associations in particular often lack the funds for urgently needed emergency supplies – such as syringes, bandages, or other simple aids. The donations from the charity run help directly where they are needed: with the people on the ground." Alexander Korn adds: "It can happen to any of us – whether in an accident or a medical emergency. Then it is vital that well-equipped volunteers are quickly on the scene. This is exactly where we want to provide concrete help and sustainable support with the run." New main sponsor with a clear message Axel Schmid-Lorch, Managing Director of Ernst Lorch KG, confirms: "We are very pleased to be the main sponsor of the charity run for the first time. This allows us to continue our long-standing commitment to children in a targeted manner – and clearly demonstrate our commitment to our location in Albstadt. We think it's great that the donations go to the local DRK associations, which provide tremendous support in the community. For us, the run is not only a sporting highlight, but also a strong sign of solidarity and social responsibility in our region." The entry fee (€15) for the company and public run will support the food banks in Albstadt and Balingen. As usual, participants in the Kids Color Run can expect a shower of color: in the "Color Zone," runners are pelted with colorful powder (made from natural corn flour and food coloring). There is also a mini version for the Bambini Run for preschoolers – great fun for everyone and a colorful contribution to Albstadt's biggest charity event. Organization & registration Race numbers will be available from 9:00 a.m. in the gym of the Kirchgrabenschule. The registration form has been updated and all information will be distributed in good time before the summer holidays. Registration will then be possible via schools and daycare centers.
