Running Together, Helping Together
On October 11, 2026, the Rotary Albstadt Charity Run will kick off its 15th round. This year, the Rotary Albstadt Charity Run welcomes Ernst Lorch KG as its new main sponsor. Many new ideas will surprise the participants! For example, the general run has been expanded to include a corporate and general run – individual registrations are possible. Because: Everyone should run – from toddlers to seniors. Why? Of course, once again for a good cause, with donations going to the local chapters of the German Red Cross (DRK) as well as food banks in Albstadt and Balingen.
On October 11, 2026, the Rotary Albstadt Charity Run will take place for the 15th time – this year again with Ernst Lorch KG as the new main sponsor. The Albstadt company is a Bosch authorized wholesaler for automotive spare parts and household appliances. The patron of the event is once again Albstadt's mayor, Roland Tralmer.
For young and old: Three runs, one goal! The event will be organized in three clearly separated runs – tailored to the age and ambitions of the participants:
• 11:00 AM: Bambini Run
Children from daycare centers will start on a circular course of approximately 300 meters from Kurt-Georg-Kiesinger-Platz. Parents can cheer along the entire route. Following this, there will be a ceremonial award presentation for the little running stars. This year, all awards will take place for the first time at the Bürger Tower Square, the central meeting point for participants, families, and supporters. Here, a grill, waffle iron, cold drinks, and lively music from DJane Jessi will create a great atmosphere.
• 11:45 AM: Corporate and General Run
The name represents a new concept: companies, clubs, families, or groups of friends are invited to compete as teams. Individual runners can also participate, just like last year. The varied route runs through the city center of Ebingen. Participants will complete three laps of approximately 2.5 km each. The running time will be measured, and the three fastest women and men will receive trophies. There will also be team rankings if companies or teams are registered. Good vibes along the route and refreshment stations will keep everyone motivated – whether for the sportily ambitious or simply enthusiastic runners. Interested participants can register online. The registration portal will open on July 5, 2026.
• 1:00 PM: Kids Color Run
In this colorful highlight, children and teenagers set their own pace: Within one hour, they will run as many 500-meter laps as possible through the city center of Ebingen. Each lap benefits charity projects. Participation is free for students. Kids will be registered through their schools – for the Bambini Run through the daycare centers.
A Good Cause – A Big Impact
In the Kids Color Run, children not only race against each other but also for a good cause: They seek sponsors within their family, friend circles, or neighborhoods who will donate a freely chosen amount for each lap completed. Every euro earned will go directly to regional charity projects. The entire proceeds from this run will go to the local chapters of the DRK in the participating municipalities. Rotary President Alexander Korn emphasizes: “Our great thanks go to the volunteers of the DRK. They do extraordinary work – with this run, we want to honor and specifically support their efforts.” Heiko Lebherz, chairman of the DRK Zollernalb, also underscores the importance of donations: “Especially in local chapters, there are often shortages of urgently needed emergency supplies – such as syringes, bandages, or other simple aids. Donations from the charity run help directly where they are needed: with the people on the ground.” Alexander Korn adds: “It can happen to any of us – whether in an accident or a medical emergency. Then it is vital that well-equipped volunteers are quickly on the scene. This is exactly where we want to help concretely and provide sustainable support with the run.”
New Main Sponsor with a Clear Message
Axel Schmid-Lorch, managing director of Ernst Lorch KG, confirms: “We are very pleased to be participating as the main sponsor of the charity run for the first time. This continues our long-standing commitment to children and clearly affirms our dedication to our location in Albstadt. We think it’s fantastic that the donations go to the local DRK chapters, which help on the ground with great dedication. For us, the run is not only a sporting highlight but also a strong signal for solidarity and social responsibility in our region.” The corporate and general run supports the food banks in Albstadt and Balingen with its entry fee (€15).
Color Zone: Here, Fun Gets Colorful!
At the Kids Color Run, participants can expect a color shower as usual: In the “Color Zone,” runners will be showered with colorful powder (made from natural corn flour and food coloring). A mini-version is also available for the daycare children in the Bambini Run – a huge fun for everyone and a colorful contribution to Albstadt's largest charity event.
