On Sunday, November 9, 2025, the traditional Martinimarkt will take place for the 19th time in the premises of the Grund- und Schwarzwaldschule Ittersbach. This event is a collaboration between the Heimatverein Karlsbad and the Schwarzwaldschule Ittersbach, SBBZ Lernen. The Heimatverein is responsible for organizing the exhibitors as well as the coffee and cake stand. The students of the Schwarzwaldschule will transform the classrooms into exhibition and sales areas in advance and will offer homemade pizza and non-alcoholic beverages. Additionally, the students from the lower grades will provide a fall-themed supporting program and musical contributions. For the students of the upper grades, the Martinimarkt is an integral part of career orientation and serves as a training ground for acquiring key qualifications. Around 30 hobby artists from the region will present lovingly crafted unique items, including: angels and candle holders made from coffee capsules, Fimo and wooden angels, handcrafted jewelry made from silver, gemstones, pearls, and Fimo, knitted and crocheted items: socks, scarves, hats, hand warmers, doll clothes, fabric sheep, and chickens, jams, liqueurs, schnapps, soaps, hair soaps, soap cakes, modern pot holders, greeting cards, handmade paper, crafts, Christmas decorations: arrangements, tree ornaments, wooden nativity scenes, hand-painted Christmas tree baubles, small Advent arrangements, gift items and boxes, bags, cosmetic bags, plant pots, reading bones, baby clothing/equipment, homemade treats such as Linzer tarts and liqueurs.
