The Gauthier family seems to have come straight out of a storybook. The adult siblings Pierre, Jules, and Louise love each other very much, and they also have a close relationship with their parents, Vincent and Jeanne, who have just reached retirement age. They want to emigrate and open an orphanage in Cambodia. Wait a minute! An orphanage? That costs a lot of money. Where did the parents suddenly get the cash? And if they have come into so much money, why don't they want to share at least a little of it with their own children? But Jeanne and Vincent refuse to listen. From then on, there is no sense of love and unity left in this wonderful family. What do parents owe their children? Armelle and Emmanuel Patron are well acquainted with familial conflict potential, as they are siblings. They have been successfully working in film and television for years. "The Loving Parents" is their first play. It won the Audience Award at the French Festival Primeur in 2022 and has since become very popular on German stages as well.
