Sandstone Quarry Route

The tour guide takes participants on a journey through the history of the Earth and shows them how the red sandstone was formed, its structure, and many other details. The hike begins at the Mosthäusel hiking car park in Pleutersbach and leads along the Neckar River, past several stations, and back to the village. In addition to the well-known stops, other phenomena along the way are also shown, such as flooding, slope formations, and block streams. On the way back, there is an opportunity to learn about the local history of Pleutersbach and the settlement geography. The terrain is flat with a short climb at the end.
