Route of the Sandstone Quarries

The excursion leader takes the participants on a journey through Earth's history, showcasing the formation of the sandstone, its structure, and many other details. The hike begins at the Mosthäusel parking lot in Pleutersbach and follows the Neckar River, passing several stations and returning to the village. In addition to the well-known stations, other phenomena along the way will be highlighted, such as flooding, slope forms, and block flows. On the way back, there will be an opportunity to learn about the local history of Pleutersbach and the settlement geography of the area. The terrain is flat with a short ascent at the end.
