German Half-Timbered House Day

There are over 50 half-timbered buildings in Eberbach's old town where the half-timbering is exposed. In addition, there are many plastered houses waiting to be "exposed." An easy walking tour introduces the most important half-timbered buildings, their construction history, and their special features. The substructure of the houses is mostly made of red sandstone, which is also examined more closely in terms of its structure. It is little known that Eberbach also had a brickworks and even a steam brickworks. These supplied the roofing for the half-timbered buildings.
