"Go West" – Rediscover North America Concert of the Music Association 1864 Buchholz e.V.

"Go West" – this was the call for Christopher Columbus in 1492 and a few centuries later for the Irish immigrants, who were among the earliest European settlers in North America. With the concert motto "Go West," the Buchholz Music Association, under the direction of conductor Oliver Schätzle, is also embarking on a musical journey across the Atlantic to (re)discover the USA. In the first part of the concert, the focus is primarily on the discovery of North America, its indigenous peoples, the landscapes... but also on New York as a place of longing for immigrants from around the world. In the second part, American musical styles and their influence on the global music scene take center stage. Be surprised by the musical imagery that conductor Oliver Schätzle uses to interpret the concert motto.
