Public Church Tour - The Namesake of St. Martin Church

The tour on November 16, 2025, at 3:00 PM, will focus on Saint Martin, the namesake of the church, as part of a church tour. As one of the first saints after the end of the Christian persecutions in the 4th century, he did not die a martyr's death. Influential and highly respected, he became the patron saint of the Frankish kings. Consequently, he is venerated in many places throughout the Carolingian Empire, including here. He remains one of the most popular saints. His feast day is November 11. Every year, many people participate in Martin processions and witness a scene where he shares his cloak, giving half to a beggar. Many have certainly eaten a Martin goose.
