Diving into the World of Books For the 7th time, the "Winter Reading - Book Market of Independent Publishers" takes place. Well-known and lesser-known publishers will present themselves, including AvivA Verlag from Berlin, Büchergilde Gutenberg from Frankfurt, Edition Converso from Karlsruhe, Peter Hammer Verlag from Wuppertal, Verlag Klaus Wagenbach from Berlin, and Das Wunderhorn from Heidelberg. This time, a total of 17 publishers will have stands. In addition, visitors can enjoy coffee and cake, as well as a reading program that takes place parallel to the book market.

11:15 AM: Britta Jürgs introduces the almost forgotten successful author Alice Berend.
12:15 PM: Caspar Dohmen explains why a green future must also be a just one.
1:15 PM: Axel Dittrich recounts the state visit of Queen Elizabeth II to Langenburg, Schwäbisch Hall, Marbach, and Stuttgart in 1965.
2:15 PM: Elli Unruh reads from her first novel "Fische im Trüben" (Fish in Murky Waters).
3:15 PM: Palestinian poet Abdalrahman Alqalaq presents his collection "Übergangsritus" (Rite of Passage).
4:15 PM: Stefan Weidle, a long-time guest publisher at the Winter Reading, proves that he is also an excellent translator. He recently translated "Mathilda's Abysses" by Mary Shelley into German.

At 1:45 PM, 2:45 PM, and 3:45 PM, there will be a picture book reading program for children aged four and up. And for those who are still not convinced: You can also win something at the "Winter Reading," namely a trip to Stuttgart to the Literaturhaus, including an overnight stay at the Stuttgart Maritim Hotel, thanks to the kind support of the Volksbank ReiseCenter. Admission to the book market and the readings on Sunday, November 23, is free as always. The day before, on Saturday, November 22, the organizers invite you to the Moritz und Lux bookstore in Bad Mergentheim for a literary soirée: Publishers will introduce themselves and their favorite books at 7 PM, as always moderated by Beatrice Faßbender and with readings by Ulrike Götz. Admission: €15 (only in advance) at the Moritz und Lux bookstore. The Winter Reading is an event in the "Literature Everywhere" series and organized by the city of Bad Mergentheim, with the main sponsor being the Ministry of Science, Research, and the Arts of Baden-Württemberg.
