Gourmet Hiking "Springs & Fountains"
On World Water Day, we will hike along the Historical Spring Path through the Spangenberger Forest to the sources of the municipality's water supply. Until the 1970s, water in Spangenberg was rationed. We will trace the footsteps of the water masters who painstakingly kept the ditches clear day in and day out to ensure Spangenberg's water supply.
We start the gourmet hike Springs & Fountains at the parking lot by the city wall and immediately embark on a strenuous ascent. We are rewarded with a fantastic view of the town and the castle. Through the forest, we follow an old ditch to the Glasebach spring and continue climbing up to the Ochsenstall. From here, we descend to the Liebenbach spring and the Eichgarten, where we will indulge in a picnic of regional delicacies. It is not far from here to the starting point, but we still have a few elevation meters to conquer. At the Liebenbach fountain in the marketplace, we conclude the hike with the legend of the Liebenbach.

Length: approx. 9 kilometers - challenging
Duration: approx. 4 hours.
Refreshments: Picnic with regional delicacies included in the price. Please bring water for the hike.
Minimum number of participants: 8 people; I reserve the right to cancel the hike if there are fewer registrations.

Who is "Grünstiefel"?
Julia Friedrich is a park and hiking guide who offers experiential tours in Northern Hesse under the brand "Grünstiefel."
She is passionate about regional foods, and her love for her adopted home of Northern Hesse is reflected in her special offering of gourmet hikes, which not only lead through diverse landscapes but also provide insights into the culinary delights of Northern Hesse.
In addition, she conducts tours in the UNESCO World Heritage Site Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe. Her curiosity for garden art and culture is also evident in her hikes.
She skillfully incorporates historical sites or buildings into her hikes and occasionally talks about the herbs and trees that line the path, ensuring that it never gets boring.
