The Chamber Choir Reutlingen invites you to a special concert evening on the weekend of Eternity Sunday. Under the direction of Marcel Martínez, two impressive works by the French composer Gabriel Fauré (1845-1924) are on the program: the Requiem in D minor and the Cantique de Jean Racine. The concert evening begins with an introduction by Marcel Martínez. The choir is accompanied by Albert Mañosa on the organ and a project ensemble that supports the warm, transparent sound of the Requiem. The solo parts for soprano and bass are taken by choir members, adding an intimate, personal touch to the work. Fauré's Requiem captivates with its comforting, luminous sound language and is distinctly different from the dramatic settings of other composers. The Cantique de Jean Racine, one of his earliest and most beautiful compositions, completes the program with its simple elegance.
