Christmas Market in Oberderdingen

Once again this year, the traditional Oberderdingen Christmas Market will take place on the 2nd Advent weekend. The historic Amthof, located between the Town Hall, Amthof12 WG Oberderdingen-Knittlingen e. G., the vaulted cellar, and the Protestant community center, will transform into a beautifully illuminated Christmas landscape for three days from Friday, December 5 to Sunday, December 7, 2025. A colorful program on the Amthof stage invites visitors to linger. The fine format "Christmas in the Amthof" will be integrated into the Oberderdingen Christmas Market for the 2nd Advent weekend. The Amthof by the Town Hall will be atmospherically lit, creating a special ambiance in the former monastic complex. Until December 22, the Sunday before Christmas Eve, the "Christmas in the Amthof" event invites young and old to the Amthof. After the Christmas market weekend, the Oberderdingen wineries and wine businesses will be present in the Amthof from Thursday to Saturday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Mayor Thomas Nowitzki will officially open the 38th Oberderdingen Christmas Market on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 6:00 PM on the Amthof stage, musically accompanied by the IdeasReich daycare center and the Oberderdingen music club. Following this, at 7:00 PM, the Leopold-Feigenbutz-Realschule will present a varied program. To conclude this musical evening, the Oberderdingen-Sternenfels trombone choir will perform at 8:00 PM, accompanying visitors into the Advent season with festive pieces and bringing the first evening of the Christmas market to a harmonious close. Around 30 exhibitors will showcase their handcrafted works for three days in the Town Hall, vaulted cellar, and outdoor area. In the historic Amthof, adorned with many lights, numerous stalls will invite visitors to enjoy mulled wine and festive foods. The Protestant community is represented with a stand from the foundation "Denk(mal) für die Zukunft." In the Protestant community center, the Protestant community will also offer stuffed veal breast with spaetzle, bread dumplings with mushroom ragout, as well as coffee and cake on Sunday. The Amthof stage will feature a colorful program throughout the weekend, organized by the Oberderdingen music club, the Oberderdingen-Sternenfels trombone choir, the IdeasReich daycare center, the Snail Houses Bremichstraße, Torwächterhaus, Rudi, Waldkindergarten, the Strombergschule Oberderdingen, the Leopold-Feigenbutz-Realschule, the Floris Pfeifer dance school, and the Strombergigel and Lindenplatz kindergartens. On Saturday evening, December 6, 2025, visitors can look forward to a performance by the Lindenplatz kindergarten at 4:00 PM, where the children will joyfully usher in the Christmas season with cheerful songs. Immediately following, at 4:30 PM, the Strombergigel kindergarten will present further diligently rehearsed contributions. At 5:00 PM, the Floris Pfeifer dance school will take the stage and delight the audience with lively dance performances, creating a festive atmosphere. Starting at 6:30 PM, the Strombergschule will contribute musical pieces to the stage program. Around 7:45 PM, solo artist Uwe Halmich will sing and play on the Amthof stage. A reflective Christmas tour through the historic Amthof ensemble will be offered on Saturday afternoon, December 6, 2025, with city guide Markus Deutsch. The meeting point for the contemplative Advent tour is the stand of the Protestant community in the Amthof at 5:00 PM. To set the mood, participants will receive a cup of punch or mulled wine before exploring the medieval buildings together. In the bell tower, city guide Markus Deutsch will read a Christmas story from his own Christmas book. To conclude, the group will return for a warm drink. The tour costs 12 euros per person. Registration is required and can be done through the Oberderdingen city information office. Spaces are limited. This year's Advent concert for trumpet and organ will take place in the Protestant Laurentius Church in the historic Amthof. On the newly renovated organ, soloists Marc Bühler and Timo Handschuh will present a festive program featuring works by baroque masters, preparing the audience for the upcoming Christmas season. The Advent concert promises to be an unforgettable musical experience. Tickets are available at the box office for 15 euros (students free). On Sunday, December 7, 2025, the stage program will start at 2:00 PM with children from all the Snail Houses.
