Concert "Mountain Christmas" in the historic pilgrimage church of Todtmoos

For 39 years now (since 1986), the men's choir Hochfirst from Titisee-Neustadt – supplemented by project singers (22 this year) – has been performing the "Mountain Christmas" during the Advent season. The "Mountain Christmas" is not a concert of the men's choir Hochfirst, nor is it a choral concert. It is something special and unique due to the interplay of brass and male voices, zither and organ playing, which is also thanks to the work and creativity of the musical director Robert Mayr. The participation of guest singers nearly doubles the vocal volume of the men's choir Hochfirst, and a total of about 64 performers stand at the altar to alternate in presenting both well-known and lesser-known melodies. Therefore, the men's choir has also produced a total of 4 CDs featuring the melodies from the Mountain Christmas in recent years. The original sound of male voices, soloists, brass instruments, zithers, and organ in a special place like the church is always a great auditory delight! The lineup for 2025: Men's choir - project choir with a total of 52 singers, zither group with 3 players, brass group from the city music Neustadt with 9 musicians, soloists from the choir, small singing group, organ, overall direction: retired music director Robert Mayr (choir director of the men's choir for now 52 years). Admission to the concert is free, and donations are requested. A large portion of the proceeds is donated to charitable purposes in the respective church communities and municipalities.
