New Paths in Care – How Young People Come from Afar to Train in Sigmaringen.
Young people from India or Cameroon leave their homeland and come to Oberschwaben. They complete training in elderly care and are intended to help meet the long-term demand for skilled workers in the care sector. Some of the young trainees will be introduced by the speaker and will share their long journey to Sigmaringen. What challenges do they face? How significant are the language difficulties? What do the young people miss in Germany? What typical misunderstandings occur repeatedly? What do the trainees find particularly difficult? Since we are urgently dependent on care workers, we should also ask how integration can succeed and how we can encourage people to come and stay. In a joint conversation, insights and experiences regarding the various cultural circumstances can be exchanged. Questions are welcome.
