Museum concert

Three of the best up-and-coming German musicians are coming to Wertheim for the museum concert: violinist Lara Boschkor from Berlin and the guitar duo Duo Tonell from Nuremberg and Würzburg. They will perform works for solo violin and for acoustic and electric guitar in duo. The evening begins with the four-movement Violin Sonata No. 1 in G minor by Johann Sebastian Bach. It is considered a milestone in violin literature, in which Bach created a synthesis of Italian and German styles. This is followed by the Sonata Op. 27, No. 3 in D minor by Eugène Ysaÿe. Bach's works were a model for Ysaÿe, the grand seigneur of the Belgian violin school, in terms of polyphony, and Frédéric Chopin's piano ballades inspired him with their rhapsodic narrative tone. In the second part of the concert, Duo Tonell will perform works by Presti, Poulenc, and Reich. The combination of classical and electric guitar promises a special auditory experience. The program includes the Étude fantasque by the French guitarist and composer Ida Presti, a contrasting work influenced by French Impressionism as well as the worlds of theater and circus. Marek Pasieczny's Re:membering II, a suite of three pieces by the renowned contemporary Polish composer, will also be heard, along with Francis Poulenc's "O Magnum Mysterium" in a special arrangement for two electric guitars. Lara Boschkor is among the best young violinists of her generation in Germany. She is a prizewinner of various national and international competitions and the winner of the Tonali Competition in Hamburg. As a scholarship holder of the German Foundation for Music Life, she performs concerts both domestically and internationally. Duo Tonell has been supported since January 2024 through a scholarship from Live Music Now Franken and won the 1st prize at the Fischer-Flach Competition in July 2024. The proceeds from ticket sales will be donated directly to the Grafschaft Museum. The concert is taking place with support from the Alfred Prassek Foundation.
