Inspiration Stuck | Embossing Art Workshop at Achberg Castle

With product and graphic designer Katja Falkenburger, FREE EMBOSSING techniques from sculpture, blacksmithing, etching, as well as relief and intaglio printing are combined and transferred onto paper. The only embossing tools needed are a wooden hammer and fine chisels, which are also referred to as punches, embossing tools, or stamps. These chisels have various motif tips such as dot, circle, line, rectangle, and trapezoid, which can be used to create images, patterns, and textures – all without stencils, fixtures, or even machines. The impressive stucco ceilings in Schloss Achberg provide inspiration for motifs. The ceiling of the knights' hall is among the most detailed of its kind in the entire Southwest. At the beginning of the workshops, participants have the exclusive opportunity to explore the castle and its ceilings on their own. Smaller ornaments are available for a tactile experience. Following these inspirations, participants will create their own artworks in the town hall of Schloss Achberg. Katja Falkenburger will explain the method of free embossing and guide the participants. A communal lunch in the town hall (self-pay) is planned. Minimum number of participants: 5; Maximum number of participants: 14.
