We then analyze the baroque design language of the stucco ceilings at Achberg Castle and use it as a source of inspiration to recreate these designs in embossing and develop them further. The embossing technique can be compared to painting or drawing – but with a hammer and fine chisels with different motif tips. We will work on both sides of the paper, using intaglio and relief printing as well as vertical and oblique embossing. The impressive stucco ceilings in Achberg Castle provide inspiration for motifs. The ceiling in the Knights' Hall is one of the most detailed of its kind in the entire southwest. At the beginning of the workshop, participants have the exclusive opportunity to explore the castle and its ceilings on their own. Smaller ornaments are available for the tactile experience. After these inspirations, participants will create their own works of art in the administrative building of Achberg Castle. Katja Falkenburger will explain the method of free embossing and guide the participants. A joint lunch in the administrative building (at your own expense) is planned.
