The mega hiking event in the Remstal with up to 2,000 participants! In 2026, it will take place in the upper Remstal, starting and finishing in Essingen. The 12-hour hike will again be conducted as a circular route in 2026. Covering a distance of approximately 44 km and about 910 meters of elevation gain, the route goes from Essingen through the nature reserves Weiherwiesen and Wental towards Bartholomä and Lauterburg, and back to Essingen over the Rosenstein. The hike starts at 9 AM at the Schönbrunnenhalle in Essingen. The group does not have to stay together during the hike; everyone can walk at their own pace. Arrival and departure can be done by car or public transport. Public parking is available in Essingen for cars. For those arriving by train, shuttle buses (free of charge) will run from Aalen train station to the starting point at Schönbrunnenhalle in Essingen, expected at 7:10 AM, 7:30 AM, and 8:30 AM. The return trip from Essingen, stop Schlosspark to Aalen train station will be via bus lines 40 and 42 (not included) at 3:52 PM, 4:43 PM, 5:52 PM, 6:43 PM, 7:52 PM, 8:53 PM, and 9:57 PM. Additionally, a shuttle bus will depart from Schönbrunnenhalle to Aalen train station at 11:00 PM. Along the route, there will be three rest and refreshment stations offering food and drinks on a self-pay basis, as well as toilets and seating areas. There will also be two to-go stations where each hiker can receive a free bottle (0.5l) of still water and a free snack (banana or muesli bar). At the finish line, there will be a gathering. More detailed information about the refreshments at all stations will be provided about 10 days before the hike via email to all participants. A vegetarian option will be available at all stations. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate other dietary habits and intolerances for organizational reasons. In case of emergency, medical first aid will be provided as quickly as possible. If you need to withdraw from the hike for health reasons, a free shuttle bus will be available at the three supply stations to take you back to Essingen (start and finish). Every participant will receive a medal at the finish area. This also applies if the hike is terminated early. A certificate will be available for download after the event. Just before the start, there will be an award for the group with the most participants and for the group with the most creatively unified outfit. There is an option to book a Flex ticket. When booking this ticket type, cancellation or name changes are free of charge up to 7 days before the hike. Only a processing fee of €5.00 will be retained. The standard ticket does not offer these options. For groups of 10 or more, we offer Flex tickets with a 10% discount. After booking the ticket, there is an option to order an exclusive hiking shirt from our partner Spreadshirt. Through the SummitLynx app, a digital certificate can also be collected. To do this, download the app, select the Remstal region and the "12-Hour Remstal Hike 2026," and manually check in at all refreshment stations (activate GPS). All hikers without potential health risks can participate. The focus is on enjoying hiking together and experiencing nature intensively. Therefore, the hike is not suitable for marathon runners and power walkers who want to complete the route at a particularly fast pace. Persons under 18 years must be registered by their legal guardians. The written consent of the legal guardian must be sent to remstalwanderung@101entertainment.de immediately after registration. Without the written consent of the legal guardian, participation in the hike is excluded. Small children (0-5 years) may participate in the hike free of charge, although participation is not recommended. Dogs are also allowed on a leash during the hike if registered at remstalwanderung@101entertainment.de. The organizer of the 12-Hour Remstal Hike is Remstal Tourismus e.V., with 101Entertainment as the executing agency, and sponsoring partners include Remstalwerk, Teinacher, and Remstalmarkt Mack.
