City guide Elmar Belthle will take you on a tour of the house, which was built in 1464 in the Alemannic half-timbered style using exclusively oak wood, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
The late medieval building with a so-called plank room is one of the oldest houses in Sigmaringen. After the Thirty Years' War, the half-timbered house was in poor structural condition and was renovated several times during the Baroque period (1649, 1690, 1760). After several changes of ownership, it was converted into a commercial building until architect Roland Stegmaier finally acquired the building and restored it to its original condition. The historic building can be visited at certain times and on request.
