Matthias Grünewald – Overwhelmed by the Christian Faith

The artist is nearly anonymous, yet his Isenheim Altarpiece attracts and moves countless people every year. He can be called a seer of the Christian faith, who reveals the meaning of faith in his artworks. Many of his works are lost. We do not know his birth date, nor do we know where he is buried.
