Alb-Guide Tour: The Rossfeld near Gönningen

Easy walk through a fairytale landscape with history. On this easy hike, you will learn a lot of interesting things about the local nature, as well as about the history of the region, how people have changed the landscape with their livelihoods, and what traces we can still find today. Delicate rare plants and sprawling gnarled tree groups cover the calcareous meadows of Rossfeld. They accompany us on our way to Schönberger Kapf, where we can enjoy the view over Gönningen and its surroundings. There is much to learn about the past and present of the region, from castle lords and seed merchants, to gigantic trees and paradisiacal orchards. Those who wish can then climb the Great Rossberg and enjoy the wide view over the foothills of the Swabian Jura in the evening sun from the tower.
